Children’s education through sport, parent-child relationship within a sporting environment are the issues that emerged in the background of my personal and practical experience, inspired me to write a doctoral thesis in sports education field of science “Educational interaction between adolescents and their parents in sports activities”

Interesting and somewhat unexpected findings of my doctoral research inspired me to develop a programme for parental involvement in children’s sport. With this programme I strive to get a deeper understanding of the psychological – educational – physical benefits of children’s sporting activities for the family. Another purpose is to evoke the internal joy of movement in children though safe integration into the sporting environment, also to build a parent – child attachment and close relationship through movement. The attachment of children to parents develops in early childhood and it is a very important period for building the foundation of close relationships between parents and children in the future.

I see joint sports activities of parents and children as an important milieu for building parent – child attachment.
